Shooting the Beautiful Girl
This gorgeous girl is the Australian Fashion Designer Jamie Allen. Her swimwear label Jaymes Swimwear has quickly become a hot topic, especially here on the Gold Coast. Her unique style makes her designs stand out from the crowd and has lead to her swimwear being stocked in multiple boutiques around the east coast of Australia including places like Bondi and Byron Bay, and also in American hot-spots such as California. Check out her website if you're after some fun and sexy new swimmers: www.jaymes.com.au.
The bonus for this designer though is her own beautiful features. She is a natural stunner and as I have had her in my life as a great friend since we were little girls I am lucky enough to have been able to grab her for a private little shoot one Thursday morning.
She is so comfortable with herself and I found myself so overjoyed to take photographs of such a beautiful human being without having to do much else besides run in circles around her with my Canon. It was a great learning experience for me. Jamie, having done many photoshoots in recent times gave me a new found confidence and love with photography. I was pleased with the general feel of the images and felt that I accomplished just what I set out to capture.

This is a interesting shot that I was really looking forward to working on. I am really happy with how it turned out. I love the casualness of the location and it gives a really warm feel.

The lines in this shot are so strong. There is a real power in Jamie's stance that I love.

Tick Tock

I have these friends that I love to watch enjoy themselves. The little moments where they light up and think that nobody is watching. These are the times that I love these people most of all; their eyes sparkling with delight.

When I started on this series of graphics, I began with a photograph that I took in New Zealand of some friends of mine. They took each others hand without even turning an eye; as though they knew that it would be there waiting when they reached out.

I have thought about the concept of time a lot in my process too. This is something that I do not usually dwell on but it seemed to play side by side with my other thoughts as I began working with this image.

Do not take life too seriously.  You will never get out of it alive.  ~Elbert Hubbard

Spend the afternoon.  You can't take it with you.  ~Annie Dillard

Contemplation often makes life miserable.  We should act more, think less, and stop watching ourselves live.  ~Nicolas de Chamfort

You will never find time for anything.  If you want time you must make it.  ~Charles Buxton

... Too right, thank you Charles Buxton.
